New Golf Video May 17th, 2007
This is a short vid I made while sitting around in the hotel room in Philly. The footage was taken back in April at the Westwood Plateau golf course. Part of York’s birthday gift from his wifey was a round of golf. We were partially subsidized as well. Thanks Val! We stunk up the course good that day but it was all for a good cause. Check it out.
Today my sister and I hung out in NYC. I love NYC. We started at Union Square at Coffee Shop with an avocado, bacon, and egg burrito, went up to 5th Ave, went to the Apple Store, went back down to Soho, bought some cool vans sneakers, then went to the upper west side to hang out with my aunt at her stylish new condo facing the Hudson. The only shitty part was taking the subway back to Flushing after. Express trains stop at 10pm so we had to go local which took forever. But there were two deaf mute lesbians making out right beside us so it wasn’t exactly a boring ride. On to the vid.

The City of Philly May 14th, 2007
Everytime I’m in New York or Philadelphia I’m always struck by the kind of money there is here. I guess it’s what people refer to as “Old Money”. Being born and bred in Vancouver, you don’t really see too much of that. The rich people are usually people who have made a ton of cash in their lifetimes and decided to retire on the west coast or send their kids there. Of course there’s always West Van and the Shaughnessy areas where there’s definitely Vancouver “old money” but it’s just on an entirely different scale here. I guess it’s made even more obvious when you attend a commencement ceremony at UPenn. A lot of old money comes out to see their young follow in the traditions of their family. What’s next for these young people? A condo in NYC, an estate in Connecticut, law school, investment banking, power broking, etc. There’s definitely a caste system that is at work here and it’s not hard to see the rich getting richer in America.

I’m in Flushing, New York! May 11th, 2007
Flew into JFK International today and am now hanging out at with my grandparents in Flushing, New York. Which in case you don’t know is east of Queen’s, which in turn is east of Manhattan. It seems kind of far from the big apple but in this state full of turnpikes, interstates, and routes, everything is less than 1/2 an hours drive away. I forgot how humid the east coast is after being away for more than a year. Vancouver should can its air and sell it. I think there’d actually be a market for that.

I’M BACK BABY May 11th, 2007
Damn it’s been a long time since I’ve written here. I guess I just needed a break from it. It’ll probably be the first of many. Today though I saw a site that I thought was too cool that I had to share it. It’s Twittervision.com. I don’t twitter myself because i associate it with nervous, twitchy people who are always on their blackberry and have weird ticks like blinking too much. Kind of like Tweek in South Park.

Very cool site nonetheless and very slick mashup of google maps and Twitter. I could look at it for hours even though more than three quarters of the twitters are in a language that I don’t understand.
Heading out to NYC tomorrow. Well, more like Flushing Meadows, home of the US Open. Get to hang out with the relatives and go to my sister’s graduation. it’s going to be off the hook.
