Hong Kong, Day 5 June 13th, 2008

It’s almost the end of the second leg of my trip in Asia. My sister is leaving to go back to Vancouver tomorrow and for me, I’ll probably stay in Hong Kong for a few more days, do a bit of work on Booksprouts, before going back to Taipei.

We’ve done a tonne of sightseeing around here. Today, we went to Macau on the TurboJet speedboats. The seas were choppy though and the lady in front was puking the whole way. Poor lady. The casinos were ho-hum but the cathedral facade in the center of the city was very cool. I’ve got some pics that will be uploaded soon.

The latest few pics on the blog are from our trip to the south coast of Hong Kong Island. We went to a neat seaside resort town called Stanley where it’s mostly expats living in fancy glass houses overlooking the water. On the other side is Aberdeen, where we went on a junk boat tour but really saw more fishing boats than anything. The city of Aberdeen itself was a bit rundown and seemed to feed primarily on it’s fishing industry. It was all a bit gloomy but that could’ve been more because of the crappy weather conditions.

We’ve done a lot more but there’s too much to write down for now. I’ll have more pics up soon!
